Witless Bay is a small seaside community that is 37 km (23 mi.) south of St. John's.  Witless Bay is the gateway to Witless Bay Ecological Reserve.

The islands of Gull, Green, Great, and Pee Pee are part of Witless Bay Ecological Reserve.  The Puffin is the official bird for Newfoundland and Labrador and in the Reserve you will find the largest colony of 260,000 nesting pairs of Puffins.  620,000 pairs of Leach's storm-petrels also nest in the reserve.  Bird watchers should plan spring and early summer to see the nesting birds.  The islands in the Reserve have no services for the public; the best way to explore is via boat tours, which also allow whale watching.

Witless Bay Newfoundland accommodations include hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts and campgrounds.

At Elaine’s B&B by the Sea you’ll find an unbeatable combination of superb landscapes, an unhurried pace of life and a unique culture. You’ll enjoy the generous Newfoundland hospitality of your hosts, Elaine and Danny Dinn, who will welcome you to their charming home with its panoramic view of the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, which is home to millions of birds including the Atlantic Puffin.
