At Matthew, board a replica of John Cabot's 15th Century sailing ship. And the town of Grand Bank on the Burin Peninsula fittingly depicts the former fishing glory in murals on the Provincial Seamen's Museum. For wintertime fun, head to the White Hills ski resort near Clarenville, with downhill and cross country trails.
