The City of Corner Brook is the on the Bay of Islands where it connects to the mouth of the Humber River. Corner Brook is the second-largest city population in Newfoundland-Labrador.

The highly travelled Captain James Cook surveyed the area in 1767. It later became a fishing and pulp-and-paper centre.
