Arnold's Cove is on the isthmus of the Avalon region.  St. John's is only 1.5 hours away by car.  Arnold's Cove started as a fishing village in the 1800s.  By 1857 the town had grown to a whopping 46 people.  Around 1900, the Newfoundland Railway came within a short distance of Arnold's Cove.  In 1914 the community committed men to World War I and the town has never forgotten them.  In the 60s the town experience great growth.

Today there is much to do including visiting the bird sanctuary, and in July enjoy the annual Fog Festival, which started in 1997.  Beachcombing and hiking should be on your to-do list.
