Badger is located in north-central Newfoundland on the Exploits River. The original inhabitants of Badger were the Beothuck Indians and the Miq-Mac Indians used the waterways for travel. In 1894 the Newfoundland Railway arrived and the area grew to be centred around the forestry industry.
